adieu, October

Oh dear blog, how I've neglected you! I've been living in the city for a little over two months now, and finally feel eased into routine. School has kept me from posting on just about anything; things have kicked into full swing (and finals are coming fast), plus I'm now working two jobs so there hasn't been much time (where I've had the energy, at least).

So during my moments of free time this month, I've visited the New Museum, the New York Historical Society, Studio Museum in Harlem, El Museo del Barrio, and the Brooklyn Museum. I also saw my first movie in Times Square (with my awesome roommates!) and tried a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery. Here's some highlights:

'Here and Elsewhere': New Museum

The High Line

Bleecker Street

Madeline in New York at the New York Historical Society
Brooklyn Museum
Killer Heels: I saw some of the most famous and mind-blowing shoes ever!

I topped off Halloween with the $3 Fraken-Frappe, and it was YUM.
I've began to realize this has turned into more of my adventures, and less on personal style, mostly because I left my lovely photographers (and tripod) back home!

No fear, I'm excited to have some time during the holiday to hopefully put together something special! I can't just leave you all with low-quality, no fun iPhone pic's, can I?
Comment if you have anywhere you'd like me to go!

Hello, Sunshine

It's already been almost a month since high school ended (ahh!!) but between working full time and starting college a few days after graduating (I'm getting some of my basics out of the way before starting school this fall) I finally found time to put together some snapshots of what I've been up to lately.

Snapshot 1: some of my artwork this year,
With lots of determination, I finished this one in two days!                      ...and this Van Gogh took a bit longer. ;)

Snapshot 2: making it through graduation,

We couldn't be very original given the strictly white guidelines (and the fact that your robe covers everything), but I'll still give you the anatomy of my ensemble:

I took some plain white heels I already had and added a few rhinestones (which I actually torn off another pair of old shoes). Heres the super simple DIY tutorial I used.

I was so lucky to have my grandpa hand me my diploma. :)

Snapshot 3: SUMMER! Which "started" today, so more to come...

While your here, why not check out two groups I've fallen in love with this summer, Purity Ring and CHVRCHES:

Thank you to whoever is reading this, I hope you continue to keep up as I start my college journey...

"How do you walk in those shoes?"

If you've worn heel-less shoes, you've been asked this question.

(and really, its not as hard as it looks!)

I saw them and had to have them. A while back I was scrolling through the priced-down shoes on makemechic.com,thanks to Seventeen magazine, and was enchanted by the vibrant royal blue. And now I'm finally getting to post about them.
